U16 Girls kicked off their league with a good win over a formidable Colga side. Two first half goals by Kate Thompson and a goal directly from a corner by Captain Shauna Butler

Sent Devon into half time comfortable ahead. It was far from one way traffic though as Ria McPhilibin was called upon several times to make some fine saves.

The second half was more free flowing and Shauna added to her tally with a great free kick , followed by Saoirse Burke with a solo effort to make it 4-0. Colga replied mid-way through the second half and continued to make the game competitive. Salthill however scored two more goals from Saoirse Burke and Alana McNeil to seal the game 6-1 on the night. Conditions were good on the night and pitch was in great condition considering recent weather. Manager Pat Lawless very satisfied with the performance on the night. Assistant Coach Tom Burke flew in from India with Curry @ Half time.
