A fine fresh cold Sunday morning for Salthill Devon’s under 12 Girls Premiership meeting with Oughterard at Drom this weekend.
Whistle blown, game on and 2 minutes in the Devonette’s top scorer Emily Fitzgerald wasted no time in finding her form to slot the first goal home shortly followed by Megan Brady’s first 2 mins later.
Emily’s second saw a 3 nil lead within 10 minutes and not to be outdone Megan’s second and then third for the hat trick took the team to a 5 goal advantage by half time.
Second half opened as quickly as first for Emily who secured a hat trick of her own before Salthills Leah Murphy joined the score sheet at the 35 mark.
Midfielders Alice Glynn and Niamh Murphy each only just missing out on scoring themselves with close wide’s provided tight support in the attacking moves.
The girls looked very comfortable and great combined play with the Defenders ensured the opposition unable to reply.
At the 40 min mark Emily added to her total a 4th and with a substantial lead under the teams belt the rest of the second half was played out as confidently as the first with every member of the squad taking to the field.
A great performance put in by the entire Team
