Another great win for the Salthill Devon U12 A’s takes them back to the top of the U12 Premiere league. Facing a strong Colga side in Clarinbridge this was always going to be a tight game, and so it turned out.

Devon started the match brightly creating some decent chances and wining a number of corners but just couldn’t find the back of the net. As the game went on Salthill were putting more and more pressure on the Colga goal but at half time the score remained level at 0 – 0.

The second half continued like the first with the Salthill lads on top and creating the better chances. Mid-way through the second half the pressure finally told when Sam Finneran scored what proved to be the decisive goal. A great finish from Sam after some nice build up play down the left.

Solid Devon defense ensured Colga chances were kept to a minimum and but for some fine saves from the Colga keeper Salthill would have extended their lead.

All in all a great team display from the whole squad. Next up for this talented team is a home game on December 1st against AC Celtic from Athlone in the Connaught cup. Best of luck lads.
