 Salthill Devon girls won the Championship in style tonight in a balmy Drom against Mervue.


The team got off to a great start with Alana McNeil scoring 5 mins into the game. Devon continued to put on the pressure and with a great corner whipped across

Salthill Devon led 2-0 at half time.


The heat continued to sap energy but we weathered an early storm from Mervue  and again a great headed goal was scored by Mary Rooney after Kate Thompson delivered a precise cross.

The Game finished 3-0.

A special night for Kate Connaughton, Ria McPhilibin (U16 Irish keeper) and Shauna Butler playing their last U16 game For Salthill Devon They all go on to represent Galway in the Gaynor tournament end of June.

Manager Pat Lawless and Coach Shane Fitzgerald can be  very proud of the team and performances this season.
