Connacht U18 Shield

Salthill Devon 6 vs 1 Kinvara Utd

A wet and windy Sunday afternoon Salthill Devon started off well with Fichara Quinn pursuing the Kinvara goal out of his area won the ball and passed it back into the box were Dean Grealy tapped it home 1-0 in the first 5 mins. Kinvara had the wind with them and kept pushing and pushing their efforts paid off 1-1. After 40 mins in we had to make a sub ,Iarlaith Osullivan had only been on the pitch for seconds and he got us our second.

After half time, Finnan O’ Connor scored the 3rd from a free kick  and Fichara Quinn scored number 4 from open play. Finnan then stepped up again and scored the 5th and which was quickly followed by a 6th from Dean Grealy. Full time 6-1
A great team effort, our defense worked hard in tricky conditions. Our keeper Kallyum Fahy controlled the back line. Callum Neil and Finnan O’Connor joint man of the match as they both battled for the mid field. Well done, next up the semi-final !

GFA U15 Premier

Salthill Devon 5 vs 1 Knocknacarra FC

Devon extend their lead at top of Galway FA 15s League. A local Darby vs Knocknacarra ended with second half dominated and inspired by a hat trick from Captain Fantastic, Shane Befula, with additional goals from Matthew Thompson, a dubious brace. The dodgy goals panel may put one of Thompson's goals as an OG.

Devon opened the scoring in the opening 12 minutes as an accurate delivery from Peter Tobin was finished to the net with a neat delicate header from Shane Befula. Devon took the foot off the gas and credit to Knocknacarra who battled gallantly and were rewarded with an equaliser just before half time. Shane Befula took a stranglehold of the game and assisted by Harry Browne, Maccon Kenny and Sean Faherty on a good afternoon for the seagulls.

GFA U15 Division 2
